Our Story

About Us
Eat Pure Mountain Market was founded in 2014 by holistic chef and passionate foodie Nicole Du Vent. Growing up on an orchard in the Okanagan, Nicole learned to cook and preserve food from a young age. Her professional cooking journey began at 15, slinging pizzas, before apprenticing in winery dining rooms and high-end lodges. Nicole's love of healthy, delicious food led her to study nutrition and to publish two cookbooks, Eat Pure Food and Pure Food Revival.
After settling in Golden, Nicole and her partner, Brian, began farming to grow their own food and later to supply the store with fresh, local products. Their farm, Goonieland Permaculture Farm, supplies the store with local pork, eggs, and garlic. Nicole’s commitment to healthy living extends beyond food to all areas of her life. Nicole studied Permaculture and Regenerative Agriculture and lives in a passive solar home she and her husband built. Their home, constructed with hempcrete and natural plasters, is powered by solar energy.
Of course, the store is not a solo mission. It takes a TEAM!
From fellow farmers and food lovers to passionate gardeners and foragers, there is a whole TEAM behind Eat Pure Mountain Market. A community within a community, we could not do this without them and without you!
